Glow Worms and Rope Swings
by TravelingWebGuy on Aug.31, 2009, under New Zealand, North Island, Travels
Finished the shower, got some dinner, met some of the others staying at the hostel. Told them I was about to go in the Sauna for a bit and a few of them said they would join me. So we went in our separate ways to get the proper gear and then met up on the way down. We probably spent about 30 minutes in there with a few breaks in between just because those rooms get so damn hot and it was pretty cool outside so all we did was crack the door open for a few minutes and let some steam out, some cool air in, and we were all good. But like I said, 30 minutes was all that we could muster out of ourselves so after that we hoped out and called it a night for that. Travel Routes for New Zealand

North Island, NZ
A few weeks ago I went to FedEx Kinkos and had them laminate maps of both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. I then ordered some alcohol based pens so I could write on the Map and not have to worry about smudging the ink. The cool thing about these pens is that I can write on the map, while it’s raining, wet, hot, w/e and the ink dries immediately and will not smudge. So when I got the pens I ordered off Ebay, I busted out the map and started to look at the best routes for my trip. The first side I was exploring was the North Island.

He starts to trip out really bad and his buddy just goes and feeds the hysteria by repeating this. That whole scene was just too much chaos for myself, let alone that whole movie. I’ve seen it once, and that was once enough for me.
But that quote coms to mind after I just got finished inventoring my gear for the trip. I’ve got all my gear, it’s sitting in the other room so I can easily distinguish what is what. When I first started, my pile of gear was pretty small, so I started buying up what I needed. Made a list of stuff and all. But now that I look at the gear, I’m beginning to wonder if maybe I have too much, too much. (continue reading…)
